No temptations. I do plumbing and heating for a living. Wow I am not sure what day it is. Everyone's pipes are frozen. We've been going night and day for 2 weeks. Thankful for a huge blizzard that has our trucks grounded tonight. A short rest for everyone. Although lots of people calling to beg us to come out into it. Time to turn the phones off. Been too busy for taking care of myself or recovery stuff. Thankful that the busyness has left no room for temptation. But somehow I don't think that is what you all mean by making a life that has no room for p.

This cold is to end is a couple days. Yah. Just been in survival mode for a couple weeks. No time even for showering but a couple times a week but seems to be a slow Saturday night. Enjoyed a movie night with the family. Trying to take it one day at a time.

Survival mode is hard. Hope you've been staying careful!

I am starting to get complacent with my boundaries. Allowed mb to creep back in. Once that happens a slip is inevitable. Time to catch myself up short and double down. My short term goal is no mb or feeding the beast in any way for the weekend. In my head I feel I can reach for the weekend.

That was always my undoing. Twice I made it 6 months, but I'd start with MB and before I knew it I was into porn again... It's the old camel getting its nose into the tent thing-starts small and ends up crowding all the good out. So, yes, one day at a time with no feeding the beast; today and forever!

What kind of man do I want to be? Why can't I be that man today? I know what needs to be done doing it is the hard part. It is easier to be weak than to be strong, easier to live rushed than to slow down, easier to sit and watch t.v. I have worked hard to turn my life around but what I am truly after eluded me and that is to be the kind of man inwardly that I want to be. Time to get serious about turning my soul around. I know the way just not disciplined enough to pull it off. Today I want to be a positive person, kind but tough, gentle to the people who need gentleness firm with the users. Cheerful to my family.

2 Samuel 10:12 courage! We must really act as men today if we are going to save our people and the cities of our God. May the Lord's will be done.

So, besides deciding to be positive, tough, gentle and cheerful, what do you need to do to get there from here?

With help from my counselor we came up with a plan that involves healthier ways of handling stress than with compulsive behavior. Also for spiritual grow his plan is a few small breaks during the day for short devotions. Those the puritans called stations. Peter Scazzero writes about them in his book Emotionally Healthy spirituality . Also I am still going through their lessons at recovery nation.. This all works if I am consistent with it.
